Mission Statement:
Joey Skaggs' mission is to challenge and change societal belief systems that threaten freedom, foster human exploitation, and curtail independent thinking.
In his work, this is accomplished by using art, advertising and public relations techniques; satire; and all available and appropriate mass media delivery systems to focus worldwide attention on social, political, cultural, and environmental inequities as well as abuses of authority and power.
In his lecture series and teachings, it is accomplished by inspiring and empowering others to pursue a life of inquiry, openness, and social responsibility.
Skaggs is an artist with a tradition of activism who is willing to commit knowledge, energy, and resources to address problems that extend beyond his immediate self interest. He vigorously defends freedom of speech and thought and is committed to the highest standards of excellence and integrity in his work. What he does reaches and potentially impacts the lives of millions of people and he aspires to leave a positive legacy for generations to come.
