Trump’s Kool-Aid, New York

On Monday, April 1, 2019, Joey Skaggs’ 34th Annual April Fools’ Day Parade and 3rd Annual Trumpathon went off without a hitch! Marching from 5th Avenue and 59th Street to Trump Tower at 57th Street in Manhattan, paraders wearing Donald Trump masks carried protest signs and toasted the President with his own Kool-Aid. A police squadron cheerfully escorted the parade.

Trump’s Kool-Aid at the White House

With the mid-term election looming in 2018, Americans needed to vote for change. So, hoping to encourage people to do so, Skaggs and volunteers wearing Trump masks and holding signs underscoring Trump’s positions took Skaggs’ mobile Kool-Aid Tasting Stand from where it was on exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Political Art in Washington DC, to the White House.

Trump’s Golden Throne

April Fools' Day is Joey Skaggs' favorite holiday. Every year since 1986, to commemorate and celebrate the folly of mankind, he has organized New York City's Annual April Fools' Day Parade. Over the years, the parade has grown in stature and has now joined the ranks of beloved New York parades. In 2017, unlike other years when the parades have attracted major media coverage but have basically been a figment of Joey's imagination, there actually was a parade. It was a Trumpathon!

SEXONIX

In the Fall of 1993, SEXONIX, the world's first sexual virtual reality company, planned to exhibit their equipment and software at the Metro Toronto Christmas Gift and Invention Show at Sky-Dome. But, the demonstration was not to be. All of the hardware and software, valued at over $300,000, was confiscated at the border by Canadian customs agents on the grounds that SEXONIX was morally offensive to the Canadian people. So said Joseph Skaggs, Ph.D. (a.k.a. Joey Skaggs)...

Faith Daniels TV Hoax

Joey Skaggs couldn't pass up the opportunity to hoax the Faith Daniels Show when they sought couples who use sex tapes to appear in a segment called "Sex Tapes -- Do They Work?".

April Fools’ Day Parade

For more than three decades, New York City's Annual April Fools' Day Parade has offered the public an opportunity to express, in a comical way, its outrage against the foolishness of mankind. Thousands of participants in look-alike costumes with satirical floats creatively mock the thoughtless, corrupt and selfish acts of the past year. The parade marches down 5th Avenue from 59th Street to Washington Square Park where revelers rejoice and party. The event ends with the annual crowning of the King of Fools.

Celebrity Sperm Bank

In July of 1976, Giuseppe Scaggoli (aka Joey Skaggs), proprietor of the Celebrity Sperm Bank, planned to hold an auction of rock star sperm in New York City. But when the sperm samples were stolen the night before the auction, havoc and mayhem broke out in the street.

Hell’s Angels Wedding

To satirize the Hell's Angels, many of whom lived in Skaggs' neighborhood on the Lower East Side in New York, and weddings, which he believed legalized the enslavement of men and women, and to generally have a good time, the artist built a customized tricycle and decorated it with all sorts of car stuff, i.e., fox tales, horns, lights, flags, a radio, and lots of chrome. With an actress friend playing his bride, he rode the trike around the neighborhood, calling it his Hell's Angels Wedding.

Fifty Foot Brassiere

On Valentine's Day, Joey Skaggs and friends strung a fifty foot bra across the U.S. Treasury Building on Wall Street in New York City to embarrass Wall Street workers who were making national headlines for harrassing a female colleague with very large breasts.

Cathouse for Dogs

In 1976, country western singer Joe Skaggs staged a night in a dog bordello, where for $50 patrons could get their dog sexually gratified, specifically, and only, for the media.
