Earlville Opera House celebrates its 50th anniversary!

In 1971, after moving from Greenwich Village to a rural dairy farm in Central New York, Joey Skaggs became aware of a magnificent abandoned opera house built in the 1890s, that was about to be torn down. To save it, preserve it, and attempt to return it to its former glory, he bought it. The full story is here: https://joeyskaggs.com/works/earlville-opera-house. Amazingly, on September 24, 2022, The Earlville Opera House, now a thriving community performance and art center, is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and is the recipient of a Proclamation from the Chenango Board of County Supervisors. Congratulations are due to everyone who, over the years, has helped this incredible cultural treasure to thrive!
